[There's the sound of a pencil tapping against a piece of paper. Someone's stuck trying to do a school assignment when he really doesn't want to. School's...pretty much the last thing on his mind at the moment. Instead, he's been listening to the various voices and messages over the network about what's been going on outside. It's unnerving is what it is, but it doesn't stop him from asking the real question on his mind.]

...so, what does it take to get chosen to head out there and fight? And even if there isn't an answer, what do you think?

Also, SOS Brigade. Report in, tell me your progress on things. [Yes, purposely vague. Somebody hasn't been taking his role as President very serious lately.]

Right, the Secret Santa sign ups are coming in steadily, Minako-chan is doing a great job at handling it and we're right on the planned schedule. Regarding the party it's pretty simple so far but we have yet to pick up the location properly, I think the school would be the best option though we should ask the teachers for permission.

[Keiichi doesn't sound very centered himself in the Brigade issues, or anything in general.]

When's the cut-off date again? [Give him a second to think this one over. They can both be spacing about it.] The school would work better than the club room just because it's a lot bigger. Raine won't mind if I tell her what it's for.

The pairings will be sorted and handed down this Saturday, so basically people can still come and sign up until Friday.

Yeah, the club room is too small for it already, we have gotten a lot of people in, even with the draft and what not. So unless we want to make a line we need anything bigger, the plaza could have been a good option but if the weather is bad it will ruin everything. The Welcome Center could have been good but then if the weather is nice everyone will be packed there.

With the school people could choose between outside and inside. We could decorate both the inside and outside, if the weather is nice we could even put up stands with games or something. As a festival maybe?

Then we just gotta make sure Minako keeps pushing it, but she's good at that. I trust her enough.

Hmm...too bad you weren't here for Tanabata a few summers ago. Everything was decorated really cool and we had a huge spread of food and lights. Maybe we can do a repeat of the Winter Olympics or something if the weather holds up, but with this place who knows what it's gonna do.

Besides, maybe some people like the freezing cold.

But maybe some may still prefer to be inside and warm. Something that can be hold both outside and inside would be good.

Well yeah, I'm just saying in general. Most people don't like the freezing cold. Let me talk to Raine, I bet she'd be fine with it.

I've ah... been showing up more often?

[Yeah, good member this one. Hopefully Taichi will be used to Kurt being like this now, since he started attending all meetings as his true self a few days ago.]

...well, that's a start. Keep doing it, start bringing people with you if you can. You have friends, right? [Taichi barely blinks an eye at strange things anymore. Clearly it just makes Kurt ten times cooler.]

... really, are you sure? I thought only Haruki could recruit new people.

[But... well, he could probably drag Gar to a meeting sometime. Maybe.]

But Haruki's not here, so I get to call the shots.

You're new to the job, yeah? How do we know you'd pick people that Haruki would have?

Date: 2010-12-25 04:28 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com
Because Haruki trusted me enough to put me in this kind of position. Why wouldn't I pick the people he would have?

From: [personal profile] bamfing
Yeah, I guess that makes sense. [But weren't you pretty much third in line? And didn't even get promoted when Usagi was sent home? Hm.]

I do, man, totally! It just doesn't seem right without Haruki, you know?

...of course it doesn't seem right. The SOS Brigade is always going to be his club no matter who the President is. I just wonder if they'll let him come back someday.

I don't know why they wouldn't, but you never know who will show up...

Let's just hope they're people we want to show up. Maybe...maybe I'll hold off on recruitment for now.

Progress...? I've set up electricity over in the rec center. It was something Haruki had mentioned to me before.

Did he mention anywhere else, Leon? It's a good start. The more places with electricity, the more options we have.

No, he didn't; his priority was the rec center. [So he could take it over, but let's not go there.] But if you have suggestions, I'm open to them, Taichi. I planned on installing some outlets in the barracks once I have enough materials again.

Wait, wait, wait. Lemme ask you something. Where are you getting the materials anyway?

The tunnels. I was able to salvage some wires and bulbs attached to the light fixtures, but it's kinda hit or miss. No one is going to miss a few lights down there.

Man...has anybody ever told you you're really crafty when you want to be? That's awesome. I think we need to make a list of places a lot of people hang out that don't have electricity yet before we waste good material.

[Oh, compliments. They never get old.] Definitely. I've already worked out installing lights in the forest stations with Ted, which is where all of my other material went. Let me know what you hear back.

[Of course not, and Taichi knows just how to win people over.] Sure thing. Maybe I'll bring it up at the next meeting after all of the Secret Santa stuff is done, see what the others think. Just keep your ears open.
