Fortieth Flame - [Written/Action]
Jun. 19th, 2011 04:02 pm[Taichi is currently up in his tree house. Yes, the same tree house he created years ago. He's sitting in the middle of it, surrounded by his usual favorites. Comics, manga, junk food, pillows, drawings of the Digimon...
...and yet, he's finding himself not quite as satisfied as usual. No, the longer he stays in the tree house, the...lamer it actually becomes. It's not a new feeling, but being alone and surrounded by everything really puts it into perspective. This seemed a lot cooler when he first arrived to Luceti; it was a place to hide out, spy on the village and pretend he was a ninja. But the comics have been read, the junk food is old, and without people to throw the pillows at they were just taking up space.
He flops over onto his back to stare at the ceiling, stretching his legs out. His toes hit the wall of the tree house though and his knees end up bending awkwardly. He shifts to sit up a little, trying to accommodate his body the extra space. He grumbles, laying back again and just pulling his feet in to bend his knees entirely. Fine. Stupid legs. Normally it's not a big deal and he can ignore it, but today it's kind of uncomfortable. He grabs his journal and opens it, flipping through it to see what's going on. He debates verbally speaking to the village, but decides against it, grabbing a pen and scrawling out a message.]
I wonder how weird it's going to be going home after all this time.
My voice sounds really stupid lately.
I wish Yamato was here so it wasn't just me. Or even Haruki to lie and say it gets easier.
I don't know if I just outgrew things or I'm depressed. But I don't get depressed.
You'd think I'd be growing some facial hair or something by now.
...hey. I've got a huge stash of comic books and manga up here if anybody wants them. I don't think I need them anymore.
Other than that? I've got nothin'.

Apr. 10th, 2011 09:56 am[It took him a while, but Taichi finally fulfilled his mission to examine the beach for Haruhi. The weather is a little chilly, but that doesn't stop him from walking along with a digital camera he found in the items shop in his hands. As he snaps pictures of the sand and the water, he takes one more shot before plopping down on the sand and pulling out his journal, half to record his thoughts and half to actually talk to the village.]
Hmm...this would have been cooler if it weren't overcast outside. Oh well. I can't remember the last time I've even been to the beach. I guess that's a lie; last time...man, I don't even want to think about that.
Was that even the last time? I can't remember now. It feels like it's been forever since August 1st...the first time we were in the Digital World, the first time I met Agumon, the first time he evolved to Greymon? It's been over two years. Wonder if he remembers me. Time moves a lot faster in the Digital World, so if time at home doesn't move, does that mean that time in the Digital World actually does move but at a normal pace? Or does it freeze and so I'm actually suspended in mid-air in the cable car on my way home? Man, this is just hurting my head!
Whatever. At least this beach isn't crawling with monsters. Guess that makes me wonder though, what are beaches like where you guys are from? Do you even have them?

Dec. 15th, 2010 12:43 am[There's the sound of a pencil tapping against a piece of paper. Someone's stuck trying to do a school assignment when he really doesn't want to. School's...pretty much the last thing on his mind at the moment. Instead, he's been listening to the various voices and messages over the network about what's been going on outside. It's unnerving is what it is, but it doesn't stop him from asking the real question on his mind.]
...so, what does it take to get chosen to head out there and fight? And even if there isn't an answer, what do you think?

Oct. 24th, 2010 10:42 am[Creepy buildings and awkward costumes aside, Taichi was actually kind of amazed at the changes Luceti had been going under. That is...until he woke up one morning and discovered his own change. No, no way, not happening.]
Man, I'm pretty sure I said I'd never wear one of these. [And so, villagers passing through the main part of town may see a small child with large hair walking awkwardly wearing a giant crab costume. Careful, he may pinch. He's either on his way to Raine's, or he's on his way to hide in the Brigade clubhouse. He's not entirely sure yet.]

Sep. 22nd, 2010 06:53 pm[Despite the fact that it's absolutely storming outside, there is a table sitting in front of Community Building 7. Someone has even been considerate enough to prop up a beach umbrella so that the stuff on the table doesn't get wet. On this table are various miscellaneous things, anything ranging to girl-clothing to a squirtgun, mostly items that looked as though they belonged to a nine-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy. The sign on the front of the table says "FREE TO GOOD HOME", but there's nobody manning the stand.
Every now and then though, one might see a young boy bringing things down from his apartment in boxes, spreading them out on the table while setting aside a much smaller pile. Careful though, if you don't catch him fast enough, he's going to be moving out to his treehouse in the forest.]

After a bit of struggling, there's a loud thump of the sound of something hitting the floor with said-journal. There's a bit of grumbling, but not much.

He's heard and seen a lot of people around now that have been talking about the closed space, and it's intrigued him. After all, the SOS Brigade is looking for mysteries of the world, right? Partially. With Haruki gone though, who's going to solve this mystery? Taichi is currently plotting and sitting inside the Brigade Clubroom. This may end horribly.]

Apr. 10th, 2010 12:07 pm[Even though it's Saturday, Taichi's sitting out in front of the school with several of the maps of the village that he took from the welcome center. He has his journal open, but he seems to be hard at work instead with a blue marker in his hand, hovering over some of the maps and marking them with lines and circles. He also has placed three pebbles on each of the maps to move them around in the paths he's creating.
He should be doing Brigade stuff, but this is clearly more important. After a bit, he crumples up the map he's currently working on and tosses it into the slowly-growing pile next to him.]

Winter's so boring...there's nothing to even do outside anymore. Can't they melt the snow early at least? I'm tired of doing homework and staying inside all the time. At least at home I'd have my friends to play video games with or watch TV. Here we don't have any of that and it's boring.
It's not snowing today...maybe I'll go see if the snow's less boring.
