[as mentioned to a few different people, Taichi has finished building his treehouse in the forest and so today he's lounging around in there pretty pleased with himself. Laying on the floor of his treehouse with his hand dangling out the door, he has his eyes lightly shut]

Sometimes I wonder if it's a good idea knowing the future. Sure a lot of bad stuff happens but I already know that we're going to win. Daisuke gave me a sum-up. But now Izzy's here too and he's older too. What gives? Oh well, at least I know I'm still the leader!

And at least I don't have to worry if I get into a good high school or not. And I definitely don't have to worry about looking stupid in the school uniform haha. I wonder if future-me has a girlfriend...I bet I get one before Yamato! Girls love athletes instead of stupid harmonicas.

Seeing Izzy here makes me sort of miss being home though. It's an improvement of the Digital World, that's for sure. Here we don't have to worry about making camp and where our next meal's coming from and running away from giant monsters. But...let's see. If it's May already, and I was at camp in August, and I got here right as I was leaving the Digital World in Earth's time frame of August, then that means I've been away from home for ten months? No wait, that's not right. Man this whole time thing's completely out of whack, why can't time just be normal?!

Maybe my friends don't even notice I'm gone. The other Chosen will, they have to, but my school friends and the soccer club, I wonder if they do. And Mom and Dad, they've got to still be worried about me and 'Kari especially since we didn't come home from the Digital World.

But I guess there's really no need to worry about it...I'm sure the others are doing just fine. Izzy said they were...they're capable of taking care of themselves. Maybe the Malnosso will bring everybody else in. I hope not, because that would kind of suck, but then at least we'd be together and could work on getting out of here. Oh well. For now, I'll just enjoy the sun while it's around.

At least that's the same as home.

[[ooc: just as a small clarification, Taichi's referred to Koushiro as Koushiro to other people out of respect for his friend but when it's just him talking to himself/actually to the redhead he'll refer to him as Izzy as a sign of friendship. Same concept of people referring to him as Tai versus Taichi the more they know him.]]

In my experience, it's never as simple as "knowing" the future.

Depends on the world. If we're referring to prophecy, I can't really say all that much about it, but I'd assume it would be along the lines of self-fulfillment, as in knowing the future leads directly to it happening.

And then there's my world... where you can "know" the future by having been there before.

Apparently in my world, we have to save the world again with a bunch of new people and new allies. It's not necessarily a prophecy, we already fulfilled all of those.

You've been to your own future?

Well, in the case of people coming from the future, it's more along the lines of time-travel... but I'm getting to that.

Sort of... the timeline in my world got rather wrecked. I've been sent several thousand years forward in the future, then ended up back in my childhood days at the age of thirty-two.

How's that even possible? Was the timeline stopped or what?

More along the lines of ripped apart. Though there was a time machine involved as well.

...a time machine. [nooow you've lost him.]

Yes. Though that came quite a bit later.

You have no idea.

... Have you met Ayla?

From: [identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com
Yeah, I met her when she first came here. Why?

From: [identity profile] zealous-prince.livejournal.com
She's from my world. Several million years in my past.

Well, I never had any problems with him. But I mentioned him because while Ayla was from the past, Robo was from the distant future.

From my time? Fourteen thousand years.

...how can you even handle that?

Oh it gets better. He's also a robot.

Well that doesn't surprise me. Future, robots, that's expected.

At any rate, the point is that during our little trip through time, we ended up using our knowledge of what was to come to change many things. Our interference altered the future at many turns. If you go into your world with knowledge of the future, it may give you the chance to change it. The question is if that's a good or bad thing.
