Hey, all of you guys who know how to actually use a sword! Anybody up for a sparring match? I need to get better with this thing eventually.

Haruhi, the spirits are still ignoring me so I give up. For those of you who are good at that sort of thing, how'd you get them to really talk to you? The only one who really listens to me is Nala...she's nice, and healing magic helps, but I want to learn more anyway.

Man, nearly two years in this place and I still can't get it.

[He's going to leave his journal open, but in between responses, he'll be going over some training movements with the sword he's acquired. Jack Sparrow has taught him well...and Sparrow's taught him some other things, too.]

Thank you. [Adding in some of that cinnamon now, and continuing the stirring.] That's only because we just filled it up again recently. As for the bird, Albert usually keeps the owl in his room, so there's no trouble in that regard.

That helps, I guess. [He's just going to poke around some more before wandering back and leaning on his elbows on the counter to watch.] Albert has an owl? [Somehow he forgot that part.] That's probably a good idea. Aegis let Tori-san stay for a little while in their pantry, but then his whole family moved in.

I'm not sure if 'has' is an appropriate term, but Rune has been staying with him on and off during the past few years. [A sigh, as she looks down at the bowl.] His family fell apart during last Halloween, so... it's been a little rough for him.

Hm? Oh -- I suppose that wasn't very clear. I meant for the owl, of course.

[She sets the large mixing bowl down.] Why don't you wash up, and I'll get a plate of dinner for you?

Okay. I'll be right back. Thanks, Raine. [And he's going to wander through the house toward the bathroom to wash his hands and probably rinse off his face. Swordwork can make a guy kinda sweaty.]

You're welcome, Taichi. [She moves to set up a place for him at the table as he leaves. A bowl of the warm beef stew, and then some rolls to go with it.]

[And he's back soon, sitting at the table and eagerly taking a bite of one of the rolls first, stirring his stew up.] This is perfect. A lot better than just getting something to microwave back at my place.
