[Creepy buildings and awkward costumes aside, Taichi was actually kind of amazed at the changes Luceti had been going under. That is...until he woke up one morning and discovered his own change. No, no way, not happening.]

Man, I'm pretty sure I said I'd never wear one of these. [And so, villagers passing through the main part of town may see a small child with large hair walking awkwardly wearing a giant crab costume. Careful, he may pinch. He's either on his way to Raine's, or he's on his way to hide in the Brigade clubhouse. He's not entirely sure yet.]

Good question. I'd say they were random, but...I don't think so, at least not for some people. For others, who can say.

What makes you think some people aren't random choices?

[She smiles a touch sheepishly.]

Well, I like moogles a lot. The Malnosso dressing me up as one can't be coincidence.

[He tilts his head to the side, trying to figure out what exactly a Moogle is. And when that fails...]

What's a Moogle anyway? Besides what you're wearing, I mean.

It's....

[Okay, some things are better seen. She opens her journal and does a quick sketch (http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100605084315/finalfantasy/images/6/6f/Amano_Mog_3.jpg) for him to see.]

They live a series of mines back home, and are a little shy, but sometimes they help people.

[He's going to watch her sketch briefly, grinning at the drawing once it's done.] Cool...we don't have any monsters on my world. They all have to stay in the Digital World. Do they talk or anything?

From: [identity profile] esper-flight.livejournal.com
Well...they say 'kupo' a lot. They have their own speech, but one I met could speak our language. That's the one I drew.

From: [identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com
...I'm not even gonna ask what 'kupo' actually means. That's still awesome though. Do you have other monsters like that in your world then?

[She starts to shake her head, then realizes an explanation is needed.]

Not quite. I mean, we have plenty of monsters, but...most of them are pretty hostile and dangerous. They're not like the moogles at all.

I guess it's like that in most places though. Having good monsters and bad monsters I mean. The Digital World had a lot of really dangerous Digimon, but our partners were...well, they were kinda like the moogles I guess, but they never said kupo. They helped us out a lot though.

[Terra smiles a little wistfully.]

I wish I could meet them.

A few of them have come to Luceti before, but they all left. The Digimon can't really be away from the Digital World for a long time anyway.

Oh? As this in August, when all those monsters appeared?

From: [identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com
Not exactly, most of those were even different monsters. The Digimon are a whole different kind. Koushiro says they're all made of data and stuff, but to make it easier to explain, they're not made of flesh and blood.

[Terra nods slowly, brow furrowing.]

So, they're like the local spirits, in a way? But you can see them?

Date: 2010-10-30 06:06 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com
Kind of. But the Digimon can be carried and stuff. We used to travel on them in their adult forms and everything.

...it gets really complicated.

From: [identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com
Yeah, it's the next step up when they evolve. Usually they're in their Child forms, but using our power and their own strength, they can evolve to Adult, and then they can evolve to Perfect...but Agumon and Gabumon could evolve even further to Ultimate. It's as far as they can go.

That sounds very powerful. Can they always control themselves, or does it ever get the better of them?

Date: 2010-10-30 10:49 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com
...not always. Sometimes bad things can happen to them when they're evolving and it gets all out of whack. And sometimes there are bad Digimon that are ever more powerful than they are. But our partners can do anything.

[She nods sympathetically at the comment about them evolving, wondering if it was anything like her own experience.]

You have a lot of faith in them. It must be nice to have a bond like that.

We have to have faith in them. Otherwise we probably all would have died already. They spent a really long time waiting for us to come to the Digital World...we had to help.
