Twenty-Seventh Flame-[Action]

[Taichi's been made well-aware of the people that have come into the village, but he's not too concerned. He hasn't seen any duplicates of himself, nor has he seen any of his friends, so why worry, right?

Exactly. So instead he's decided the best course of action is to make a snowfort and he's currently hiding inside of it with a huge pile of snowballs, waiting to find innocent people to throw them at. Ridiculous child is ridiculous. Never mind the fact the top of his bird nest hair is probably sticking out.

So, do you get hit? Or do you bust him before he can throw one?]

[Don't mind him, he's just busy snickering to himself inside his fort. Except, ew, that last comment?] That's because rotten fruit's gross and kinda squishy.

[identity profile] awaitingalbion.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[Aha, the culprit. Merlin's indignation melts away because who can stay angry at a kid?]

Tell me about it. People tend to throw the squishiest ones, too.

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[Taichi's aware of that as well, and he plans to use his kid-status in his favor. He sits up though and looks at Merlin from inside his fort.]

Why do people throw fruit at you anyway?

[identity profile] awaitingalbion.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Because I told Prince Arthur that he was a prat and apparently that's worth being put in the stocks. The fruit was an unexpected bonus.

[He approaches, examining the fort.]

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[He doesn't mind letting Merlin check out the fort. It is pretty awesome.]

Who's Prince Arthur? And why'd you call him a prat?

[identity profile] awaitingalbion.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[If awesome had been in his vocabulary, he just might have used it to describe this fort.

And he doesn't seem too surprised that you don't know who Arthur is--after all, this doesn't look like Camelot.]

He's...the prince. And I called him a prat because he is one.

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[Taichi might know the stories of King Arthur and Camelot and all, but he's not really thinking along those lines.]

That's not a very good explanation, you know.

[identity profile] awaitingalbion.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, look. He's not just the prince, he's also my employer. I'm the prince's servant. And he's a prat because he can't do anything by himself, and makes me do all the work.

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, that makes more sense! [He just tilts his head though to examine him closer.] You don't really look like a servant though.

[identity profile] awaitingalbion.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
No? [He looks down at himself, tugging on his neckerchief in particular.] Why's that?

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I dunno, you just don't, I guess. Does he really make you do everything though?

[identity profile] awaitingalbion.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Polish his armour, clean out the stables, make his bed, serve his breakfast. Once I had to dress him. Too much feasting the night before. But--err--you didn't hear that from me, okay?

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[Just starts laughing instead.] Man, he sounds really lazy. I won't tell anybody.

[identity profile] awaitingalbion.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Mostly lazy. When he's not in a tournament or something.

[But Merlin smiles and nods.] I'm Merlin and--[whoa now he notices Taichi's wings. And he stares.]

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Tournaments? [Competition! This is something Taichi can actually jump onto.] What kind of tournaments?

[Annnd staring. Considering he's been in Luceti for about ten months now, Taichi usually forgets that wings aren't normal for people outside of the barrier. So, he has to actually look to see what Merlin's staring at before flapping his wings carefully.] Yeeeah, these aren't exactly normal. But everybody in the village has them except for all of the new people. Oh, and I'm Taichi, but you can call me Tai if you want.

[identity profile] awaitingalbion.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Jousting, of course.

[Looking at the wings some more.] Right. Well, I'm not sorry for missing out on that particular feature.

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Jousting? Like that thing on the horses?

[He shrugs a little.] They're not that bad, it was way more fun that week we could use them to fly though!

[identity profile] awaitingalbion.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, so what I've gathered is that all you people are trapped here, and with wings?

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
More or less, yeah. The Malnosso guys won't let us leave and stamp us with barcodes, too, besides having the wings.

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[Turning around and lifting up his hair and headband to reveal said-barcode.] The line thingy.

[identity profile] awaitingalbion.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[He winces to look at it.] It's some kind of a brand. Like, a marking? Is it permanent?

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's a marking, but I don't know if it's permanent. It's permanent here though.

[identity profile] awaitingalbion.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
The lines are so straight. [Again, he has to wonder--magic?] How long have you been here?

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-12-20 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
About ten months or so. But there's lots of people who have been here longer.
