Tenth Flame-[Voice/Action]

[as mentioned to a few different people, Taichi has finished building his treehouse in the forest and so today he's lounging around in there pretty pleased with himself. Laying on the floor of his treehouse with his hand dangling out the door, he has his eyes lightly shut]

Sometimes I wonder if it's a good idea knowing the future. Sure a lot of bad stuff happens but I already know that we're going to win. Daisuke gave me a sum-up. But now Izzy's here too and he's older too. What gives? Oh well, at least I know I'm still the leader!

And at least I don't have to worry if I get into a good high school or not. And I definitely don't have to worry about looking stupid in the school uniform haha. I wonder if future-me has a girlfriend...I bet I get one before Yamato! Girls love athletes instead of stupid harmonicas.

Seeing Izzy here makes me sort of miss being home though. It's an improvement of the Digital World, that's for sure. Here we don't have to worry about making camp and where our next meal's coming from and running away from giant monsters. But...let's see. If it's May already, and I was at camp in August, and I got here right as I was leaving the Digital World in Earth's time frame of August, then that means I've been away from home for ten months? No wait, that's not right. Man this whole time thing's completely out of whack, why can't time just be normal?!

Maybe my friends don't even notice I'm gone. The other Chosen will, they have to, but my school friends and the soccer club, I wonder if they do. And Mom and Dad, they've got to still be worried about me and 'Kari especially since we didn't come home from the Digital World.

But I guess there's really no need to worry about it...I'm sure the others are doing just fine. Izzy said they were...they're capable of taking care of themselves. Maybe the Malnosso will bring everybody else in. I hope not, because that would kind of suck, but then at least we'd be together and could work on getting out of here. Oh well. For now, I'll just enjoy the sun while it's around.

At least that's the same as home.

[[ooc: just as a small clarification, Taichi's referred to Koushiro as Koushiro to other people out of respect for his friend but when it's just him talking to himself/actually to the redhead he'll refer to him as Izzy as a sign of friendship. Same concept of people referring to him as Tai versus Taichi the more they know him.]]

Like all the traveling and stuff Genis mentioned?

Yes, that's correct. We did quite a lot of it, though it couldn't be helped.

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-05-17 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds familiar. We had to do a lot of it too.

When you're trying to save two worlds, traveling becomes a bit necessary.

[Action]

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-05-17 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
And only when you start traveling do you realize how big the worlds are.

Mmm, indeed. Always a lot of different things to see, different places. It puts a lot of things into perspective.

No kidding...traveling around the Digital World made Japan seem kind of small. And Japan's a huge country.

It certainly sounds like it must be.

[he nods in agreement] One of the biggest on the planet even.

Being in an unfamiliar place must have put quite a few things into perspective.

We learned a lot of things about ourselves when we were there.

It seems like you must have had a lot of adapting to do. Though in the end, you all were stronger for it, weren't you?

[Action]

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-05-18 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Definitely a lot stronger. Mimi stopped complaining so much and Takeru stopped crying all the time. Sora learned a lot about herself and Jyou started being braver. Koushiro was just impressed that he had some skills that didn't involve a computer and Hikari proved she could take care of herself. And Yamato learned how to work with other people and not fight with me all the time.

I see. And what did you learn, Taichi?

[Action]

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-05-18 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm...I think I mostly learned how to think before I acted and I learned how to be a better leader.
wise_maiden: (it won't let me in)

[Action]

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2009-05-18 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Those are certainly all valuable lessons to learn.

[Action]

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-05-18 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
We all needed to learn them.

What did you guys learn? Anything?
wise_maiden: (waiting to change)

[Action]

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2009-05-18 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Hm?

Ah, well, we all learned quite a few things, as a group and individually. We were challenging quite a few situations that seemed impossible, after all.

You remind me a bit of Lloyd, actually... he could very much be considered our leader. He had to learn to think before his actions as well. Genis learned quite a lot about friendship. Regal and Presea learned about forgiveness, and acceptance. Sheena learned to believe in herself, and others. Zelos learned about the value of living. Colette learned that she could rely on others. And Kratos learned to forgive himself.

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-05-18 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
It's weird isn't it? Thinking that we need to go on these huge adventures to learn lessons like that. I bet if none of us traveled we'd still be the same as we were.
wise_maiden: (and the fire fades away)

[Action]

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2009-05-18 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed. It's true, though; changes to our normal routines do inspire growth where we would normally not expect it. Unless other situations came along later, but it's not likely it would have the same impact of what we were doing.

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-05-18 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Survival's kind of a good reason to inspire growth.
wise_maiden: (waiting to change)

[Action]

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2009-05-18 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
... Yes. It is. In order to survive you have to adapt.

[Action]

[identity profile] goggle-syndrome.livejournal.com 2009-05-18 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
And in order to adapt you have to open your mind.

Exactly.

Mmm. You have a good head on your shoulders.
