Thirty-Eighth Flame - [Voice/Action]

Hey, all of you guys who know how to actually use a sword! Anybody up for a sparring match? I need to get better with this thing eventually.

Haruhi, the spirits are still ignoring me so I give up. For those of you who are good at that sort of thing, how'd you get them to really talk to you? The only one who really listens to me is Nala...she's nice, and healing magic helps, but I want to learn more anyway.

Man, nearly two years in this place and I still can't get it.

[He's going to leave his journal open, but in between responses, he'll be going over some training movements with the sword he's acquired. Jack Sparrow has taught him well...and Sparrow's taught him some other things, too.]

I think it depends on how you went about it. Did you try actually conversing with them, or were they just words? [Nala only began to really come to her when she began to use the hymns to call her forth.]

Haruhi told me I had to sit there and listen for them first, but I thin--

[Hold on. Hold on, that voice. Taichi's been so caught up in his own projects with the Brigade and with trying to be a pirate he must have missed the memo, but no, there she is.]

...Tear?

[The amount of surprise in his voice catches her a little off-guard; perhaps he is another she met when she was here before?]

... Yes. How do you know my name?

...you don't remember? [Well, if he suddenly sounds a little disappointed, it's because he is.] Do you remember being here at all before?

[The disappointment in his voice is hard to notice, making her feel a little guilty. Just like Emil...] I'm afraid I have no recollections of my previous stay here...

Right...a lot of people lose their memories when they leave. [He sighs and just looks into the journal, forcing himself to grin anyway.]

That's okay though, we'll just have to start over! I'm Taichi.

[So upbeat and optimistic. His name catches her attention immediately - Haruhi brought it up with her before.]

You're Taichi? It's a pleasure to meet you.

[That's what happens when you're thirteen and you've accepted your fate of being stuck here. After all, it's been nearly two years since he first came to Luceti.]

Yeah, that's me! Somebody already mentioned me? It's nice to re-meet you, I guess. Man, that sounds weird...

[A smile comes across her face; Haruhi had mentioned something about the two of them having been close...] It is rather strange. Haruhi mentioned you to me when we first spoke, I assume you know her?

Yeah, but--[Wait. Wait, it's probably better not to confuse Tear by explaining that she used to be a he but then came back to Luceti as a she and not remembering she was a he. Sheesh.] Yeah. Haruhi and I are pretty close, I guess. I'm the Vice Chief of the SOS Brigade. Well, Deputy Vice Chief now that Rena's back in the club, too, but still. I didn't know you spoke with her already.

[Yeeeah it'd probably be best to not confuse her with that, Luceti itself is still taking some getting used to without thinking about gender-swapped leaders.] We spoke once before, she briefly brought up the Brigade and how I was a part of it last time I was here.

Yeah, she's right. You were pretty helpful with advertising. [It's also probably best not to mention that Haruki had her wear a bunny costume and parade around with signs.] Did she try to get you to rejoin?

[Telling her that would definitely convince her to not join again.] It was brought up in conversation, she certainly implied wanting me to rejoin.

...you totally should. It'd be great having you back, especially since spring's soon. We start doing a lot of our big stuff in spring and summer.

I've though about it, though I'm still not sure whether I should. Not that I mind helping out the rest of the village when it's needed.

Give it some thought. I know Haruhi would be glad to have you back.

...I would be, too. But I spend a lot of my time doing Brigade stuff anyway.

... Would it be all right if I attended a few of the meetings before making a decision? I would like to see it for myself.

Yeah, definitely! Haruhi wouldn't say no to that. I could tell you when the meetings are and everything.

I'd appreciate your help, Taichi. [Maybe she'll join in the end?]

You can count on it! It'll be great, just you wait.

I sincerely hope so. [Especially after some of the things Haruhi mentioned. >_>]

Trust me, you'll love it. [So long as you stay out of some of Haruhi's schemes, anyway <<;] Our next meeting should be sometime soon.
