Thirty-Eighth Flame - [Voice/Action]

Hey, all of you guys who know how to actually use a sword! Anybody up for a sparring match? I need to get better with this thing eventually.

Haruhi, the spirits are still ignoring me so I give up. For those of you who are good at that sort of thing, how'd you get them to really talk to you? The only one who really listens to me is Nala...she's nice, and healing magic helps, but I want to learn more anyway.

Man, nearly two years in this place and I still can't get it.

[He's going to leave his journal open, but in between responses, he'll be going over some training movements with the sword he's acquired. Jack Sparrow has taught him well...and Sparrow's taught him some other things, too.]

Probably in the next couple of hours. I can probably come over when I'm done, is that okay?

That sounds fine to me. [And if he gets hurt, she can look after his wounds. Not that she'll say that just yet.] I bet you'll be starving after that as well.

[He refuses to believe he'll need that. But then again, this is Taichi.] Yeah, maybe...you wouldn't mind if I stayed for a while, would you?

No, of course not. Stay as long as you like.

Cool. I'll be over there in a little while.

Just come right in when you get here. No sense in waiting in the cold.

You got it! [And it'll be about an hour or two, but eventually he'll make his way to Raine's place...and, you know, he'll probably just let himself into the house. It's just what Taichi does. Thus, the hunt for Raine begins.]

[He won't have far to go, if he decides to check the kitchen first. Dinner is over for her, but there is still stew keeping warm on the stove, since she made sure Albert had made extra.

And Raine's ... working on a dessert, it would seem like. A nice big bowl of pudding.]

[That's where his nose is leading him, anyway. That stew smells pretty good. He doesn't go over there though, instead wandering to Raine's side and looking at the pudding.]

That looks good.

Do you think so? It's butterscotch. I was hoping that it wouldn't be too plain...

You didn't put anything weird in it, did you? [And by weird, he means like lemons.]

[THERE ARE SOME SUSPICIOUS LOOKING LEMONS ON THE COUNTER. But they don't look like they've been used. Yet.] I haven't gotten to the point of adding anything else yet, so I was thinking of ways to spice it up.

[Orly. Don't mind him discreetly moving the lemons away.] Cinnamon might be a good way to spice it up. What do you think?

You think so? [She was thinking crushed red peppers.] We should have some in a jar in the spice rack. Can you get it for me?

[Good thing he showed up when he did then. Then again, he might have eaten it anyway.] Sure. It's labeled, right? [Doot doot doot, heading over that way to take a look...and also to see what else is in that cabinet there.]

Yes, it is. [The spice rack has a variety of different spices and dried herbs. The pantry itself has some breads, and other dry foods like potatoes, rice, pasta, onions, etc, as well as emergency supplies. Raine continues stirring as he browses.]

[He takes down the cinnamon and brings it to Raine, but his attention goes back to the stuff in the pantry. Curious child is curious.] You guys have a lot of stuff in here. You're lucky you don't have birds.

Thank you. [Adding in some of that cinnamon now, and continuing the stirring.] That's only because we just filled it up again recently. As for the bird, Albert usually keeps the owl in his room, so there's no trouble in that regard.

That helps, I guess. [He's just going to poke around some more before wandering back and leaning on his elbows on the counter to watch.] Albert has an owl? [Somehow he forgot that part.] That's probably a good idea. Aegis let Tori-san stay for a little while in their pantry, but then his whole family moved in.

I'm not sure if 'has' is an appropriate term, but Rune has been staying with him on and off during the past few years. [A sigh, as she looks down at the bowl.] His family fell apart during last Halloween, so... it's been a little rough for him.
