[At first, there's the sound of a lot of shuffling like someone trying to grab the journal but they can't quite pick it up. After a bit of struggling, there's a loud thump of the sound of something hitting the floor with said-journal. There's a bit of grumbling, but not much.

And though the words are clearly angry, the voice that's speaking them is so high-pitched that it's probably just laughable.]

This isn't what I had in mind when I said I missed seeing the monsters!

They used to talk about it every day. As if he could just come back. As if there was still a fight to be won.

No one in the city wanted to acknowledge it. They probably felt that they didn't have a choice. They used to talk and meet with the other parents, but eventually that just slowed down, too.
