Thirty-Fourth Flame-[voice]

[At first, there's the sound of a lot of shuffling like someone trying to grab the journal but they can't quite pick it up. After a bit of struggling, there's a loud thump of the sound of something hitting the floor with said-journal. There's a bit of grumbling, but not much.

And though the words are clearly angry, the voice that's speaking them is so high-pitched that it's probably just laughable.]

This isn't what I had in mind when I said I missed seeing the monsters!

[And then Taichi might see something - a flash of a tiny object in the frame. If he looks close enough, it might look familiar ...]

[It flashes by again. A little figure, brown hair defying gravity. Blue shirt. Teeny-tiny goggles.]

...is that...[And a startled...well, probably a squeak because he's Chibimon but it's a startled sound nevertheless.] Where did you get that?!

... I've always had it.

Since that day.

But that's impossible! Those should have disappeared when we came back, remember?

They never disappeared.

... They never came back.

But I'm right here! Well, I'm not supposed to be Chibimon but come on! I can prove it and everything, Kari! What do you mean they never came back?

They never came back. TK and I tried to get away, but couldn't. Mimi arrived with the other digimon in time and ... Patamon digivolved and ... and ... he defeated Piemon.

... and they never came back. D-don't you understand? You can't be - so don't say things like that!

...but how come I don't remember any of that? That doesn't sound right. I remember that Patamon digivolved and saved us though, but not the rest of that. We came back...we came back and then we had to fight the last fight before Gennai let us go home.

Are you feeling okay? Maybe you need to rest a little.

You don't remember it because you weren't there. You weren't born yet, so you don't ... know.

After the battle, the three of us were sent home. There were so many expecting faces. Mommy, Daddy... everyone's parents who were waiting for us. And ... we couldn't tell them. We just said... they'd have to wait a little longer.

... and then we all went home. The days got longer and eventually the whole city just ... went back to normal. Everyone got used to it. Except for the three of us. We knew the truth.

[He pauses for a bit to really think this one over then because what Hikari's saying doesn't make a ton of sense to him, but it's intriguing nonetheless.]

How...did the others take it?

... TK always had that hope inside that everything would fix itself again someday. Always. I ... I couldn't stand it. Mimi ... she tried to look out for us, but then her family moved away.

That's just like him too. ...Mimi moved to America, right? [It's kind of killing him that he's not able to protect baby sister from all of this horrible stuff that apparently happened to her.] What did Mom and Dad say?
