[Taichi's running around Luceti dressed in new winter clothes he received from Raine earlier that day and currently he's going to try and find her to thank her. He's bouncing more than usual and he's also munching on a cookie that tastes distinctly like lemons. Oh well.]

Finally! Happy birthday to me! Take that, Matt, now we're the same age again.

[In other words, Luceti, prepare for a human tornado of boy running around in the snow now that he actually can. He's wanted to run around since discovering Tear got kidnapped, so he's kind of just going. Feel free to bump into him.]

Careful, you'll make yourself dizzy. And good, I was hoping they would. How has your day been going?

It's been okay. Kind of just a birthday, but I'm going to head home in a bit to see what's going on there. [Leaving out the part that he's missing Tear but.] Where have you been?

I'm sure you'll have a lot more exciting things waiting for you at home. I was just picking a few things up from the store. [Said things which she accidentally left in the snow, she reaches to pick the small bag up.] I have to admit I wasn't expecting this much snow already.

Exciting or not, it's cool. [Reaches out and dusts snow off the bag, since uh, it was his fault it ended up on the ground anyway.] Definitely, this is almost as much as we got during camp!

And that was during the wrong season at the time, correct?

Yup, it was snowing at the beginning of August. That's summer on our world.

It accounts for summer here as well. In any case, at least I know you're now dressed for it. How have you been doing, aside from that?

[Awkward shifting] I've been okay...

[She knows that look. Something's up, but is it worth going into on his birthday, after all those good feelings earlier?]

I see...

Yeah, just busy. But it's almost time for Christmas and then it'll be busier. [He's pretty sure Raine's not buying any of it, but.]

[She doesn't buy it, but she has her own issues that she doesn't want to get into with him right now anyway, so their fail works out. Sort of. Maybe.]

That's true enough. Perhaps we can talk a little more about things when you aren't so busy?

[It's kind of a "don't ask don't tell" thing. It'll be okay for now >>;]

I'm not that busy, but you were on your way home, right?

That's right. I just wanted to get a few more things from the store, since this weather has been unpredictable already.

[She pauses thoughtfully.] ... Hmm.

I can walk you back if you want. [Though he tilts his head at the 'hmm', waiting for her to continue.]

You know you're welcome to do that.

... I was wondering how prepared your house has been for the weather, actually. How you've been getting wood for the fireplace... and making sure that your food supplies are stocked in case of a really big storm. We've recently been doing a lot of preparing, ourselves.

I think I will. [And he starts walking, waiting for Raine to follow. However, he hums in thought at that.]

...I guess we haven't really thought that far ahead. We have enough wood for about a week right now, and Yamato usually keeps an eye on the food supplies. We've got lots of blankets and stuff in the house, and now that Daisuke's here, he's helping out, too.

[She follows after him once he starts moving.]

It might be something to look into, then. Just keeping track of your inventory, and keeping more non-perishable food in the house. You're close to the stores at least, so that part won't be too bad. Keep an eye on your wood supply, though.

Daisuke... he's your friend from your future, isn't he? [And why isn't he in school :(]

It's gonna be different...the only time we saw snow in the Digital World was when Matt and I got stranded from the others on this island. And maybe a few other times but we never had to stay in it. We'll have to keep an eye on everything. I don't want 'Kari getting sick, Matt either. Daisuke and I are pretty good at staying healthy.

Yeah, he is! He's kind of goofy, but he's pretty cool. I'll drag him to school when he gets more settled in.

[But Taichi, you got sick here :|] Everything is a learning experience. At least you'll be inside a house, and not outside where it's cold. But you didn't have snow at home?

[Nod in approval.] All right.

[But we're ignoring that :|] Yeah it snowed in Japan in the winter, but we always had electricity and heaters to keep the apartments warm, and Mom and Dad made sure we had enough food and everything. So this is kind of like our first winter on our own.

He doesn't like school either, but I told him about you and Gelda, so it should be okay!

You're not completely on your own, you know.

[A soft chuckle.] I'll hold you to that.

No, I know. We'll be okay.

Hey, Raine? Do we get a Christmas vacation?

Not everyone here comes from a world with Christmas in it. But it's likely I'll have to give everyone the week off given the majority of those that do.
